Enter Maggiano’s Little Italy’s® “Bliss List” Contest
Are you engaged to be married? Write an essay to win a Sandals® Resorts vacation in Maggiano’s Little Italy’s® first ever “Bliss List” contest and you can cross honeymoon planning off your list of things to do.
Here’s how to enter:
Capture your blissful moments by providing a photo and an essay of 250-words or less, listing the top five things you’d like to experience together during your marriage. Experiences can range from people you’d like to meet, places you want to visit, skills you want to develop together, etc. Couples have until February 29, 2012 to submit entries to the “Bliss List” contest site.
Maggiano’s will select finalists from the list of submissions and judge the essays based on a number of criteria, including unique experience ideas, as well as creative descriptions and photography. Once confirmed, Maggiano’s will post the finalists’ stories online where everyone is encouraged to solicit votes for their favorite couple.
The couple who receives the most votes at the end of the voting period on March 30, 2012, will win a grand prize 5-day, 4-night stay at a Luxury Included® Sandals Resorts in the Caribbean, with airfare included. Second and third place winners will receive a $3,500 and $1,500 credit toward a banquet event at Maggiano’s, respectively.

Men’s Warehouse Teams up with Extreme Makeover
I was so upset to read about the series finale of one of my favorite shows, ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” but so glad the show is going off in great style. The final episode airs on Friday, January 13th and features the crew not only building a home for a deserving couple but also Men’s Warehouse donating tuxedos to help the couple realize their dream wedding.
The featured couple, Scott Ely and Natalie Gonzalez, was among those left homeless after devastating tornadoes hit Joplin, Mo. last year. Scott vowed that if they survived the storm, they’d get married. Thanks to Men’s Warehouse and ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” the couple can begin married life looking good and living well.
Tune in for the final episode to see a seven home build for Joplin tornado victims, the largest build ever completed, and the story of Scott and Natalie. I’ll have my box of Kleenex. Don’t forget yours.

Have a Ball with a New Year’s Eve Wedding
As if New Year’s Eve isn’t already one of the most festive nights of the year, imagine how much more fun it would be if you were getting married? With New Year’s Eve falling on a Saturday this year, there are sure to be more New Year’s Eve weddings than usual.
Even though hotels and reception halls will already be decked out for the holidays, there are so many ways to liven up a New Year’s Eve wedding even more. Besides the obvious noisemakers, party hats and champagne toasts, I think it’d be so much fun to have a balloon drop over the dance floor at midnight, serve cookies or cupcakes with a clock face striking midnight on them, decorate with a cluster of vintage clocks or use accents of crystals and metallic elements for some extra sparkle.
New Year’s Eve is a great night for a party and I can’t think of a better party than a New Year’s Eve wedding.

Molly Holder and Ed Nisbett, who met on Match.com, wed in June and are enjoying a fabulous honeymoon at Breezes Grand Negril in Jamaica. Perhaps you met your future spouse on Match and are planning a similar trip. That certainly was the case with Molly, 90 years old, and Ed, 82.
The couple shared similar interests and instantly connected so Ed proposed after a few months. I love that they embraced modern technology for their search for one another and that they are happily married and enjoying their honeymoon. Congratulations to them!
