Have a Ball with a New Year’s Eve Wedding

As if New Year’s Eve isn’t already one of the most festive nights of the year, imagine how much more fun it would be if you were getting married? With New Year’s Eve falling on a Saturday this year, there are sure to be more New Year’s Eve weddings than usual.

Even though hotels and reception halls will already be decked out for the holidays, there are so many ways to liven up a New Year’s Eve wedding even more. Besides the obvious noisemakers, party hats and champagne toasts, I think it’d be so much fun to have a balloon drop over the dance floor at midnight, serve cookies or cupcakes with a clock face striking midnight on them, decorate with a cluster of vintage clocks or use accents of crystals and metallic elements for some extra sparkle.

New Year’s Eve is a great night for a party and I can’t think of a better party than a New Year’s Eve wedding.

Walt Disney World celebrates its 40^th anniversary this weekend so I wanted to send a birthday shout out to one of my all time favorite and most fun places to vacation. Some may think of Disney World as a resort only for families but Disney World is a popular destination for weddings and honeymoons as well.

Disney World’s theme and water parks, resort hotels and various nighttime activities are what make it a top ranking honeymoon destination but you can also get married there. They offer several types of packages including one where you get married in the Magic Kingdom and ride in Cinderalla’s Coach. I can’t think of a more magical wedding than that!

Fall Wedding Ideas

With Labor Day behind us, we say goodbye to summer and look forward to the fall. Fall is a great time of year to have a wedding because there are so many natural elements and great tasting flavors available that you can incorporate into your fall wedding theme and décor.

If you live in a region where the leaves are changing color, you can take advantage of that spectacular backdrop and have your ceremony or wedding photos outdoors. You can also use pumpkins, hay bales, baskets of apples, and tree branches to add a rustic touch to your reception décor.

Add some fall flavors to your wedding menu as well. You can do that easily with a coffee bar with warm apple cider, pumpkin lattes or caramel frappuccinos or a martini bar with cranberry martinis, appletinis or caramel apple martini.

San Diego Comic-Con takes place July 21 – 24^th and for some fans of anime, science fiction, fantasy, superheroes, video games, and, yes, comic books, it’s the perfect place to exchange “I dos.”
