We all know how unattractive sweat stains are.  The last thing you want on your wedding dress is a big stain so manage your perspiration by wearing dress shields in the arm pits of your dress to absorb sweat.  It’s also a good idea to pack an antiperspirant in your handbag so you can reapply it throughout the day.

Also unattractive is drippy looking foundation that leaves streaks on your face.  It’s a good idea to go a little lighter with your make up in the summertime to avoid the melting result you can sometimes get from the heat.

Summer sun and heat can also wreak havoc on your hair.  Wear your hair pulled back or in an updo to keep cool and if you’re wearing it down, use a humidity control product to avoid the frizzies.

If you’re having an outdoor wedding, don’t forget the sunscreen.  Sun burnt, blotchy spots will not good in the wedding photos.

I know using the restroom is a bit of a hassle in a long gown, but make sure you drink plenty of water to stay hydrated during the day and night to avoid nausea or dizziness.

The movie, Something Borrowed, based on the novel by Emily Giffin, is in theaters now, but save going to see that for a rainy day.  Instead, pick up or download the e-book to enjoy by the pool or at the park.  The story is about Rachel, a good girl, who ends up in bed with her friend’s fiancé.  As her friend’s wedding draws near, she must make a choice. 

Something Blue is a sequel to Something Borrowed, continuing the story of its characters.  I don’t want to give away too much of the story, but Rachel makes a choice and the book explores the value of friendship, love and happily-ever-after.
