The tagline for the movie version of the hit musical “Mamma Mia!” is, “Take a trip down the aisle you’ll never forget,” and knowing the plot, I would say that there really is truth in advertising.  If you don’t know the story, here’s a quick summary to get you up to speed.  Meryl Streep plays Donna, a single mom who owns a hotel on a fictional Greek Island.  Her daughter Sophie, played by Amanda Seyfried, is in the midst of planning her wedding and wants her dad to walk her down the aisle.  One problem, she doesn’t know who her dad is. But Sophie secretly discovers her mom’s diary and finds out she has three possible fathers, Harry played by Colin Firth, Bill played by Stellan Skarsgard, and Sam played by Pierce Brosnan.  She wants to find out who her father is, so without her mom knowing, she invites all three of the men to her wedding. 

Sounds like a recipe for wedding disaster right?  But with ingredients like comedy, romance, and the fun music of ABBA, it seems like “Mamma Mia!” will serve up a big dish of laughs and makes a perfect girl’s night out for brides-to-be and their bridal parties.  So put down the Emily Post Wedding Etiquette guide, take a break from your own wedding planning, take a walk down the aisle with Sophie and go see “Mamma Mia!” on July 18^th.

Rumour has it that Mariah is planning another wedding ceremony and reception in NYC to celebrate her marriage to Nick Cannon.  The couple originally wed at a small, intimate ceremony in the Bahamas and now they are ready to share their joy with 2,000 of their closest friends!

Based on Mariah’s passion for the extra-ordinary, this should be a fun wedding to watch.  Rumour has it that she’ll have over 10 bridesmaids and will incorporate butterfly wedding accessories. We can’t wait to hear more about this lavish event.

The town of Crawford got ready for the big event, by decorating in unusual ways:

 
The town’s Angel was adorned with a wedding veil and bouquet.  (The sculpture was given to the town as a gift after Bush’s re-election.)

One resident even dressed their lawn ornaments in wedding veils.

Rumour has it that a local cafe, served wedding cake to its patrons over the weekend.  The cake was decorated with secret service men!

The much anticipated wedding date of July, 7, 2007 is fast approaching.  Many couples have been planning their lucky wedding day for years now.  Popular venues, photographers and entertainers have had this date booked for over 2 years.

One celebrity, Eva Longoria, is marrying her Tony Parker, on this lucky day.  They’ll be having their over the top wedding at the Chateau Vaux-le-Vicompte in France.  Rumor has it that one celebrity magazine has paid over $2,000,000 for exclusive rights to photograph and publish their wedding photos.  Let’s hope they follow other celebrity examples and donate this cash to a worthy cause.
