Destination Postcards
Travel is an integral part of people’s lives. Whether you or your future spouse have traveled together or separately in the past, or plan on traveling together in the future, chances are somewhere along the way, you will mark that travel with a postcard. Marriage is another form of a journey, why not mark its passage with postcards as well.

You may already have a collection of postcards that you have been saving for no particular purpose, or you may have had to actively start looking for, buying and collecting postcards for use at your wedding. Either way, with a little bit of imagination and know how you can use your collections to create unique and interesting accessories for your wedding. Postcards can also be made utilizing your own pictures or designs.

Most invitations will come with an RSVP insert card, to allow guests to let you know whether or not they can attend, by using postcards from a collection or ones you’ve made yourself, you can save the additional costs of those inserts, while giving guests a very straightforward way of letting you know their intentions.
Have a friend or two take fun and interesting pictures of you and your future spouse at a number of different locales or dressed up in unique accessories and clothing, and turn them into postcards. With enough imagination you can even make it seem like you’ve traveled the world to have the cards created.
Creating or collecting a series of identical postcards from the same locale, or boasting the same image can also help you with guest management. Simply mail identical postcards to all those you plan to seat at the same table, and instruct them to look for their RSVP’d postcard laid out on a table, escort card style – and find the table that matches. Not only is this a fun way of getting people together and chatting, it also saves you the additional costs of escort cards, and the additional time of writing them out.
Postcards can also be used by the bride and groom as favor or thank you cards, a particularly good idea if the wedding was hosted at a destination or local attraction, which is featured on a postcard.
Whether you’ve traveled to some interesting places in your time, or plan to in the future, postcards can help you share that love of travel in a fun creative way. {Article courtesy of Weddingstar}

Perfect for a vintage wedding!
Dog (my fiancee) is a big movie junkie , can’t wait to show him this movie idea!
Really, very creative idea! I like the idea of taking many pictures at different places as a method of guest management – it’s hard enough to plan and manage these kinds of events, so anything you can do to make it easier is a bonus, and this idea is classy, as well!
I love the vintage look to it! I did save the date cards postcard style too, if anyone is looking for a place to get them I got mine from http://www.invitationsbydawn.com, they do a lot of theme style weddings too.
