When Uninvited Guests Crash a Wedding
“Primetime” has been featuring a series of reports entitled “What Would You Do?” where John Quiñones uses hidden cameras to see what people’s reactions are to staged situations.
Inspired by the movie Wedding Crashers, a recently aired episode had interviews with engaged couples who were willing to have actors pose as wedding crashers at their reception as a prank to see what people would do. No one would know about the crashers except for two designated people. Since the couple chosen had family who had never met, this made it a little easier for the crashers to mingle unnoticed, that is, until they made themselves noticeable.
The two “guests” pull out a sandwich baggie at the buffet table, mingle with guests, flirt with women, and dance like crazy. When asked who they know, they make up stories as to how they know the bride and groom and even use fake accents.
Guests soon start to get suspicious but no one says anything. Finally, the groom’s friends figure the crashers out and bust them. The bride’s family is not happy with them and someone even wants to have them arrested for trespassing but ABC comes to the rescue just in time. The scheme is uncovered and everyone gets a kick out of it, especially the bride and groom who were in on it the whole time.
What would you do if you discovered wedding crashers at your wedding?
