Well i would put ashes of my mom in it.Why well i never got to see her much different states,We lost our beloved mother @ the young age of 69.I got the dreaded call june,27 2009 from my sister.She said you better get here as soon as you can.Her breathing is getting swallow.The hospice nurse gave her a day maybe.So me and my daughter and grandaughter drove 6hrs longgg hrs.My mom told my sis she was holding on till we got there.Well we arrived around 10pm.I ran into her room.And hugged her sooo hard.My grandaughter hugged her also and said No great grandma dont go!!!.She did pass @ 2am.She truely waited for us.We grew up poor.My dad left all us for my mom to take care of 7 kids.And she did might not of had the best or a good meal but we had her love!!!It saddens me as she had plans to attend our wedding.This is why i would carry her close to me down the isle on Sept,18 2010.R.I.P MOM

I would keep my grandmother’s keepsake 14k gold necklace she would always wear. My grandmother gave the necklace to me after it was salvaged post Hurricane Katrina.

I would keep my fathers firefighter cloth badge with me. I would want him to know Ii was still his little girl and so proud of him for being such a good father and and provider to his family. Keeping his badge close to me would make me feel as though he with me every step of the way.

I was given my first ring from my parents when I was a little girl. It was a tiny diamond ring in the shape of a heart. As you can imagine it is too small for me now so I thought about getting it made into a necklace but decided it is something I could pass down to my children or always have as a keepsake. On my wedding day I could keep the ring in the pocket as it was my very first diamond ring before my fiance gave me my last!

I’d put a ring that my grandmother gave me when I was in middle school. I would visit my grandmother in Florida almost every summer. When she passed away after a battle with breast cancer when I was in high school, I was heartbroken. Now we’re getting married in Florida about an hour away from where she lived and I stayed with her on those trips. Being that close to where I made so many memories and to have that ring with me would make me feel like she’s right there with me.

I would keep the satin rose petal I’ve held onto with the date marked on it when my fiancee proposed to me. One one side it has the date when he proposed and on the other I wrote a Bible verse RE:marriage, so it is very sentimental. He left a trail of rose petals for me leading to where he was waiting on one knee…So I kept the rose petal and have held onto it for quite a while now. I was planning on hiding it on me but had yet to decide where. So this would be perfect. =)

I would keep my grandmother’s rosary in the pouch. She raised me from the time I was born until I was in 3rd grade when she passed away.

When I was a little girl, my dad was always watching Nascar races on tv and I would always get bored. To keep me from losing interest, he picked out a driver for me and taught me how to follow the sport. When I was 10, I gave him a Rusty Wallace pin for his birthday. He gave me a matching Dale Earnhardt one and it became our Sunday afternoon tradition to wear our pins together and watch the race. In truth, I have never really enjoyed the sport, but I loved the afternoons with my dad. My dad died in October, 2002. I buried him with his. I’d like to put mine in that little pouch on the garter.
