Creative Twist on Tradition Gone Bad
We’re always reading about how to personalize a wedding or how to be different at your wedding but sometimes sticking to a tradition isn’t a bad thing. Take for example the ritual bouquet toss. Tradition says that the bride throw her bouquet to a group of single ladies. The woman who catches the bouquet will be “lucky” and the next to marry. Not much to change with that one right? But that’s just what a couple in Italy recently did when they decided to get creative with this tradition and it did not work out as planned.
As an alternative to the bride tossing the bouquet to guests, the couple hired a small plane to fly by and toss out the bouquet over the group of women. Instead of falling into the hands of a lucky guest, reports say the flowers were sucked up into the engine causing a fire and explosion. Most creative twists on tradition will not put guests in jeopardy but this accident might make you think twice before planning something out-of-the-ordinary.
In the end, it looks like everyone involved ended up with a bit of the bride’s good luck since no one was seriously injured!
