Enchanting Winter Wedding Themes

July 11th, 2007 by Debbie

Summertime leads the way when it comes to most popular season of the year for weddings but winter weddings are gaining popularity.  Whether you’d like to have a winter wedding theme with snowflakes and icy accents or Christmas wedding theme with rich velvet accents there are many ways to bring the colors and feel of the season to your wedding.

A blue and white color scheme is great for a Hanukkah or winter time wedding held at a lodge or mountain resort.  Blue and white pairs really well with silver too and design details in those colors on items like toasting flutes really sparkle. A snowflake cake top, reminiscent of glistening white snow and glacier blue, also carries on the icy, glistening look. Top the night off with a winter wedding favor like a silver snowflake wine stopper that guests will love.

A Christmas wedding theme is also popular.  Most churches are decorated with wreaths, holly branches, pine trees, bows and lights during the holiday season so you can take advantage of the decorations. Hold your reception in a historic mansion with a roaring fire, strolling carolers and rich crimson red velvet accessories and bring the warmth of the holiday to your wedding.
