Celebrate New Life with a Butterfly Wedding Theme
The butterfly symbolizes different things in different cultures but since a butterfly changes from a caterpillar, it generally reminds us of new life. A wedding is the beginning of a new life for a man and woman so what better image is there than a butterfly theme for a wedding? A butterfly wedding theme can incorporate wedding accessories with a butterfly motif in a variety of styles.
Some butterfly wedding accessory collections have a butterfly adornment, perhaps a silver tone pendant with rhinestones. Ring pillows, guest books, and flower girl baskets are all adorned with this sparkling accent.
Some wedding accessories may have colorful faux jewel butterflies accented with sheer butterfly ribbon that capture the beauty of nature on bridal purses, cake toppers, cake server sets or toasting flutes.
Another way to show off the butterfly at your wedding and beyond is to pick a collection of accessories with a butterfly charm that can be removed and worn on a necklace or charm bracelet after the wedding. A jewelry quality silver butterfly charm covered in crystal looks great on a unity candle, garter, guest book or ring pillow.
And if jewels and rhinestones aren’t your particular style, there are also wedding accessory collections with lacey butterfly appliqués with pearls and ribbons or embroidered type butterflies like on a wedding handkerchief.

I went to a wedding where they released butterflies and it was very impressive to see.
I performed a wedding that had a butterfly release after the pronouncement. Unfortunately, none of the butterflies flew out. They just dropped to the ground. Most were still alive but they seemed to be dormant or something. Perhaps it was too chilly. Maybe it was the dark box. Whatever the reason, I suggest brides do plenty of research first so that they are aware of best and worst conditions to release butterflies under. It was very anticlimatic and disappointng to the bride, who had invisioned a multitude of butterflies released into the air.
