Many brides are faced with the dilemna of what to do with their wedding dress after the wedding. It’s such a special dress that it is hard just to package it up and store it away. Well, my sister had a fabulous idea - to take her wedding dress and make her new daughter’s christening gown from it. Of course, its one thing to have an idea and then another to make it a reality. Fortunately for her, our mom is a talented sewer and was able to make my sister’s dream come true.
Our mother has been sewing since she was young and has made everything from doll clothes to her daughter’s clothes (not that we appreciated it when we were younger!). She doesn’t sew for a living - its just a hobby for her, so she was reluctant to take scissors to my sister’s wedding dress. After much cajoling, she agreed to do it, but wouldn’t make any promises to the final outcome.
As you can see from this photos, her efforts resulted in an absolutely stunning christening gown:

If you don’t have a wedding dress you’re willing to cut up or a talented sewer in the family, you can always purchase a heirloom quality christening or baptism gown. We found these beautiful baby christening gowns.

Red wedding accessories are no longer just for Valentine themed weddings! Some brides are adding a red sash to their white wedding gowns and then continueing the red theme with a red flower girl basket.
Bronze Flower Girl Baskets:

These bronze baskets are the ideal wedding accessory for a fall or autumn wedding. These fall flower girl baskets will coordinate with dramatic colored flowers. Be sure to bring your basket with you when you meet with your florist.
Champagne Flower Girl Baskets:

Pink & Brown Flower Girl Baskets:

Pink and Brown continue to be a popular color scheme for weddings this year.
Black & White Flower Baskets:

A Black and White flower girl basket will add a touch of sophistication to your wedding ceremony. You may also consider using a basket to dress up the card table at the reception.

Family Medallions offer a special way for children to feel included in the wedding festivities and to mark the beginning of a new family.
The Family Medallion is a symbol of family unity and love and ay be used to include children of the bride and/or groom in the wedding ceremony. When a new stepfamily is being created, the medallion becomes a tangible way to build a bond between stepparents and stepchildren.
Presenting a child with a Family Medaliion is a meaningful way to include them in the wedding ceremony. Most officiants understand the importance of this and will perform the medallion presentation after the bride and groom exchange vows and rings. The recognition of your children during the ceremony offers a solemn moment for the entire family and shows your guests your commitment to establishing a new family.

Each Family Medallion comes in a embosssed gift case that also hold a small photo. Family Medallions are availabe as pendants, pins, charm braclets and rings in either silver or gold.
The Family Medallion was created by Clergy Services which specializes in developing products that support and strengthen marriage and family relationships.

I’m happy to announce that we just released a new version of our first site The Massachusetts Wedding Guide. The new version has a sleeker easier to navigate design, plus provides more details on MA Wedding Professionals, including wedding reception sites, photographers, djs and videographers.
I started MA Wedding Guide back in 1998 when I was planning my own wedding. Back then there were only a handful of wedding planning web sites and I thought it would be helpful to share information about planning a MA wedding with other Massachusetts brides.
Today the site receives over 3,000+ visitors daily and assists brides planning Boston Weddings to Cape Cod Weddings. With our reception site finder brides can enter the criteria for their wedding and search our database of MA wedding reception sites to find sites that meet their criteria. Once they’ve selected a reception site and know their wedding date they can use our listing of top MA Wedding professionals to find a photographer, videographer, wedding band, DJ or even a wedding planner!

Now that we’ve received all the 2007 bridal catalogs from the leading wedding accessory manufcaturers, its time to select our favorite wedding guest books! Each year we anxiously await the arrival of the new catalogs, in anticipation of the new wedding collections. The designers are always creating new designs and making updates to our old favorites.
Our new favorites for colored wedding guest books are:

Green is one of this year’s popular colors, so we had to pick the Thymeless Guest Book by Wedding Star. The fabric is made of rich organic greens and decorated with sparkling crystals.

Pink and Brown became popular wedding colors last year and are sure to remain popular with the Strawberries and Cream Collection from Wedding Star. (This is my personal favorite.)

Black and White always lends a sense of sophistication to a wedding and the new Black and White Guest Book by Lillian Rose is no exception.
Favorite Traditional White & Ivory Guest Books:

Beverly Clark’s Custom Color Guest Book has been updated with new color choices for 2007. Now there are over 19 color combinations including spring moss, champagne and chocolate.

The Bridal Tapestry Guest Book by Wedding Star is our new favorite traditional guest book. We love the detailed embroidery, touch of chiffon and crystals.
So those are our favorite guest books, but we also have lots of new other favorites which we’ll be sharing very soon! Click here for more wedding guest books.
